Gopurams are widespread in south Indian temples, predominantly in Tamil Nadu.[5]

This temple tower is one of the tallest, measuring 192 feet in height. 9 Meenakshi Amman Temple

The complex houses 14 gopurams(gateway towers) ranging from 45-50m in height, the tallest being the southern tower, 51.9 metres (170 ft) high[19] The temple has some very old sections but the largest part dates back to 17th century.
